Since I had put my first pins into the lace pillow while attending the Idrija Lace School during elementary and secondary school, I knew I would always love making laces. During university followed a short break. But after finishing my postgraduate studies, I realised that lacemaking is like riding a bicycle - even if you don’t ride for a long time, you don’t forget it. I make bobbin laces knowing that my lace will be an everlasting memory of me.

The relaxing sounds of the bobbins soothe me and often take me into my thoughts. But I also see lace as a challenge. I like to use my computer and draw new lace patterns.

I am conscious of the importance of expertise and knowledge in passing on and enriching the tradition of lace-making. That is why I have obtained all three certificates of the Idrija Lace geographical indication, joined the Idrija Lace Association and written the story of Tomažek, who discovers the secret of Idrija lace.
